Throughout her entire life Laurian Pope has been an avid horse enthusiast. From an early age she learned how different movements can improve the strength, balance, and happiness of her equine partners. With this innate understanding of both human and equine motions, she decided to become a bodyworker for horses and riders. This transition from avid equestrian to massage expert occurred when Laurian met her mentor Sharon Taylor, a renowned Equine Physical Therapist in the New England area. 

After two years of shadowing Sharon, Laurian Pope became certified in Equine Manual Therapy. This equine bodywork technique is comprised of Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Release, and exercise therapies. Additional accreditation was achieved at Cortiva Institute for massage therapy, upon completion Laurian became a licensed therapist for people in Massachusetts and South Carolina. In 2013 Laurian received her National Certification.

Laurian Pope started Freedom of Movement in 2013. She plans on continuing her human and equine bodywork education education through all available modalities. She is comfortable working with all genders, breeds, personalities, and within the goals of all equine disciplines. Laurian Pope believes that, "horses positively contribute to the human experience and it is with great pleasure that that I offer my services."
